If you remember, a while ago I mentioned my favorite room in my home is my guest room.  Since my oldest baby girl moved out with my grandson, I have taken over this space as my own.  And it's become known to all as "Momma's Happy Place".

 

If you are looking for me, most often you will find me in here.

I love Marilyn Monroe, and the portraits are oil painted.  These were a gift to my daughter from my mom, but she did not take them to the new place...so they are mine now!  The black and white goes really well with the swirly black and white design I love.  In the above pic there is a "Life is Good" Silver shelf sitter.  That came from an online store called Through the Country door! www.countrydoor.com

 

I love restored furniture, so I often get old items redone to look antique.

Of Course NO room is complete without a leg lamp! I absolutely HATE the movie The Christmas Story, so its a running joke when the marathon comes on at Christmas, my mom and sister come with their favorite one-liners.  I had to get myself one! And honestly, its cute.

Mothers Day Cookie Chips from HannahMax Baking!

 Yummy Crunchy Strawberry Cookie Chips Ice Cream Sandwiches!

The kids love them.

 So, even though I said I hide my cookie chips in my nightstand, I got a huge Mother's Day care package from the company! Now that I have plenty left over to share, I do! And these are cookies I am proud to say my kids are allowed to have as many as they want! 

With No Trans Fats, No Artificial Flavors or colors, No preservatives and No GMOs, they can share these cookie chips all day! 

They are so good, I love the Cinnamon Sugar and Buttery Original, but having sampled each flavor multiple times, I no longer have a favorite! They are all delicious!

     Such a wonderful trip.  What a wonderful gift from my husband, a break and what better place to spend Mother's Day than half day with my kids, and half with my mom! I miss you all, already.

Mother's Day Reflections & Care packages for those suffering a loss

Mother's Day is here again, and I know full well how painful this day can be for some.  If a woman is dealing with the loss of a child or her own mother, or even the struggles of trying to achieve, this one day can be a day not worth celebrating or a reason to be "Happy".

I have been there as well.  I have suffered 4 miscarriages, at various stages of pregnancy and I have been on the roller coaster of infertility for almost 15 years. Its because of that journey of emotions I am normally so guarded with how I bee-bop around in my own bubble on Mothers Day.  I am very protective of those women's feelings.  

Mother's Day is on a Sunday, so even in church you can't escape the talk.  You cant walk into walmart without seeing the whole floral department bursting with color, balloons strung on every shelf, the jewelry department has signs, the sales papers have reminders, and the grocery store has a sidewalk tent sale.

As a Mom of 6, I often find that I don't spoil myself with food, I buy snacks everyone in the house can enjoy. Most often the gummi fruit snacks, potato chips and nutter butters are kept in the pantry for public access and consumption. 

NOT THESE! No way, baby! I keep these in my night-stand next to my bed so when all the kids are in bed and the lights are off, I can indulge myself with 1 or 3...They taste so sinful, but I must admit, they aren't! Oh, so good, crispy, buttery, thin little wafers! Even the crumbs are good on ice cream, but between you and me...I have been known to lock my door and tip the bag over and let those tiny cinnamon-sugary little crumbs trickle onto my grateful tongue!
